    Post date: Thu, 07/02/2019 - 11:05

Tonight there should be something for everyone, members and visitors alike.  A chance to see images that might not necessarily fit into our club competitions, from members whose work you might not have seen much of before. "Members night" is the 10 in 10 night - the concept is 10 images from each participating member, with 10 minutes to talk about them - though this isn't necessarily strictly...

  • Macro Competition

    Post date: Fri, 07/12/2018 - 16:35

Thursday night saw 67 Macro images submitted from 20 members. In the first half of the evening, Judge Ian Whiston DPAGB, EFIAP, BPE5* efficiently reviewed the images, holding back 25 images for further consideration. The excellent summer weather must have been good for dragonflies and demoiselles, as these made up a high proportion of the images entered.   After the coffee break, Ian narrowed it...

  • Themed Print Competition - "Urban"

    Post date: Sun, 18/11/2018 - 12:57

Thursday night saw Printed images from 9 members who submitted 30 prints. Judge Ralph Duckett [MPAGB, APAGB, EFIAP] seemed to enjoy the process tremendously. He adopted a novel approach by reviewing all images in detail with constructive comments. He chose NOT to select any at that time to “keep the suspense going” - which it DID. Then during the intermission, he narrowed the 30 down to 12 [more...

  • Open Competition - Black & White/ Mono/ Infra Red (Print)

    Post date: Mon, 05/11/2018 - 09:45

Our thanks to Judge Graham Walton, DPAGB who traveled a long way to judge our first Print competition of the season.  With only 30 entries from just 9 members we were treated to a detailed critique of every image. I’m sure the advice was helpful not just to the Entrants, but also to all those who attended. Cliff Hughes was unlucky not to get all 4 of his entries awarded a place as "Carly behind...
