At 1pm on Saturday 8th January 2011 the Mayor, Robert Plant, will open Leek Photographic Club's latest exhibition; venue - the Nicholson Art Gallery, and all are welcome to attend the ceremony - admission is free. The exhibition allows each member the opportunity to show some of their own favourite prints and many of the club's best projected images from the past two years.

The subjects covered vary from stunning landscapes, portraits which really connect with the viewer, photojournalism and the natural beauty of animals and birds to ingeniously creative fictional images and macro too.

The exhibition opens at 10.00am on Saturday 8th January 2011 and the last day is Saturday 19th February 2011. It is open Mondays to Saturdays inclusive from 10.00am to 4.00pm

Every Wednesday at 12 midday, starting 12th January, there will be a short demonstration on the use of Photoshop. These will be taster sessions and will last 30-45 minutes, admission will also be free. For the most part of the exhibition, stewarding will be done by club members who will welcome the opportunity to chat with visitors about their photography.

Looking through the comments by visitors on the club's last exhibition in the Nicholson Gallery in 2009, it is clear how interested and impressed they all were. In the interim period, club members have continued to achieve great successes in national and international competitions as well as regional ones, and this is again reflected in the high quality of the work on show.
