It is with great regret that we announce the death of Brian Ross. As many will know, Brian had been battling illness for sometime. Even though he was ill, his passion for photography was undiminished, and he continued to enter competitions both locally in the Club, nationally and internationally with considerable success, and also submitted a panel for his DPAGB.
In the Club competitions this year he won the Adams Trophy for the second year running as the winner of the Print League, and the Roy Fenton Memorial Cup as winner of the Major Miscellaneous Print. He was also runner up in the PDI League. Over the season he won the most 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in both print and PDI competitions and as a result was also awarded the Mick Johnson Trophy.
On Saturday, PAGB Adjudication for DPAGB took place and Brian's Panel of Prints was successful, to universal acclaim when announced. As is the norm, one of the prints has been retained by the PAGB and will go into the permanent archive.
Brian had been a very active member of the Club for a number of years with the help and support of his wife Carrie - co-ordinating the Exhibitions , entertaining us at Club evenings with Photoshop demonstrations, and a presentation of their adventure climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to name but a few. We will all miss him, and our thoughts and prayers are with Carrie and their family at this very sad time.
