Photographic Bio

Hi, I am currently the External Competitions Secretary for Leek Photographic Club. I think I got my interest in photography from my Dad, and have been taking pictures since the early 60s. I don't specialise in any particular subject, but I do enjoy capturing backlit subjects and natural history, both flora and fauna. I also love B&W and will spend quite some time with software to convert the colour RAW file into a Black & White image. Since moving to digital photography I also enjoy playing with the images using a combination of Lightroom, Photoshop and plug-in filters such as Topaz and Nik Software. I don't always manage to capture the 'Picture' I want in camera, but I know that, if there is a picture lurking in the image I come back with, then with the use of software I can pull it out.

Camera equipment

Camera is a Panasonic GX8 Mirrorless plus a selection of four thirds lenses - Olympus 12-40 mm f2.8 Pro, Olympus 60 mm Macro, Panasonic 100-400 mm, Panasonic 14-140 mm. I also have a Panasonic TZ-100 compact camera for holiday use, plus a Minolta S7 rangefinder film camera, specifically to shoot B&W film.
